A beautiful memoir about the bond between fathers and sons and the link between nature and art.

Review:

This is a story about a boy named Juanito who gets to shadow his papi on the job as a landscape contractor. Together, they mow, plant, weed, trim and design beautiful landscapes. Juanito changes from being embarrassed at the beginning when working on a friend's lawn, to being proud of everything his father has built. This has great themes about culture, pride, and the celebration of father/son relationships. I love how Spanish phrases are sprinkled throughout the book and the illustrations are beautiful.
