Reason(s) for choosing the book: A Favorite Author

If you were tasked by the publisher with writing a short quote for the back cover of this book, what would it be: What would you do for your sister? Anything?

Review:

Oli’s entire life changed when her sister disappeared.  It is now just Oli and her ailing grandmother at home.  Oli doesn’t even really participate much with her friends from the birding club now that her sister is gone.  Then one day while visiting the spot where her sister’s body was recovered, Oli stumbles upon another girl buried in the same spot, but this girl is alive!  The girl, Iris, eventually remembers her name but little else.  Can Iris help Oli finally solve the mystery of what happened to her sister?

Oli knows that she and Iris need help and calls in help from her friends in the birding club.  Her friends are eager and willing assistants, but Oli soon starts questioning if her old friend Harry may be involved.

Luanne Rice has always been one of my favorite authors for beach reads and family fiction, so I am not sure if this impacted my reaction to this story a bit.  I felt this story was a bit stilted and predictable.  I am not certain that this would keep young readers of suspense like One of Us Is Lying or supernatural like Beautiful Creatures involved so I will pass on adding this one to my collection.
