News Literacy: Reverse Image Search
Instructions
To perform a reverse image search:
Right click on the image, and choose:
- Search the web for image
or
- Search Google for image
or
- Reverse Image Search
Troubleshooting
Sometimes the option to reverse image search or search the web for an image does not show up.
If this happens, click further into the picture and then right click on it to see if it works.
- If you are using Google Chrome and it still doesn't show up, check to see if something called "Search images with Google Lens" shows up. They are currently experimenting with this to see if they can make Google Lens work for Reverse Image Searches. I have found this doesn't work quite right just yet. If you want to turn this off, you can navigate in your Chrome browser to chrome://flags
- Once there, find the option that says, "Search your screen with Google Lens" and click "Disabled". This will relaunch your browser, and once this is done, you should be able to Search Google for image.
