Virtual Book Promo: Home

About

As we have students who are attending school in a hybrid way, or completely remote, or even as the students who are attending school in person are unable to enter the library to browse, librarians need ways to promote new books, or simply the act of reading, to their students. These practices have been a tradition in school libraries, and we will use this as a way to explore how to transfer those practices to a virtual setting.

This guide is to go along with the Professional Development session from January 2021. Take a look at each tab at the top of the page.

  • Virtual Book Displays: This tab showcases different types of "static" displays that you can use to showcase books on a LibGuide or website. Tools used on this page are: LibGuides Gallery Boxes, Wakelet, Canva, Google Slides, and we will continue to grow this as we find more tools to explore
  • Booktalks: We will discuss ways to record your booktalks and post them to students
  • Book Promotion: Buzzfeed type resources to get your students engaged
