Digital Divide
There's a significant portion of the US population that don't have access to the internet at home. This impacts their ability to access news, be a contributing member of society, participate in cultural events and social events, as well as learn the necessary technology skills needed for gainful employment.
Access to Media Literacy Education
Access to media literacy education is necessary for students to be able to access, analyze, evaluate, create, and act on the information they receive. Students, educators, and the general public all need to know how to differentiate between what is reliable, credible, and factual, and to be able to discern biases.
