Share & Embed

To share & embed in Powerpoint:

  • In your browser, using your Office.com OneDrive account, open your virtual library presentation in Powerpoint.
  • In the upper right corner, click the  button. Make sure it says "Anyone with the link can view." Here you can copy the link to share it with a link, or you can close the box.
  • To pull the embed code, under the File Menu click "Share" and then "Embed". Choose the size you want the presentation to appear and copy the embed code.

To share & embed in Google Slides:

  • Open your virtual Bitmoji library slide presentation in Google Slides in your browser.
  • In the upper right corner, click the button. Make sure it says, "Anyone on the internet with this link can view". Here you can copy the link to share it, or you can just click Done.
  • To pull the embed code, under the File Menu, click "Publish to the Web".
  • In the pop-up window that appears (if it doesn't please check your pop-up settings in your browser), choose Embed and click "Publish". Click OK in the next popup window.
  • Now, you can choose your slide size and copy the embed code. Here you can also restrict access if you want, or stop publishing (which means nobody will be able to see your slide).

Workshop Rough Outline

In this workshop, we will create a virtual library space in Google Slides and Microsoft Powerpoint.

We will:

  • Share ideas for using a virtual space, and why it can be useful not only now, but in the future when we are all back F2F again (one day, I hope).
  • View examples of already created virtual library spaces
  • Brainstorm ideas and make a list of things each librarian would like to include in their virtual spaces

In Google, we will:

  • Create the virtual space - with a background photo
  • Add picture elements to it
    • show how to resize, flip and order the elements in the space
  • Link to library resources
  • Add your Bitmoji - if you haven't created one, we will do that now
    • How to find different poses, and how to get the Bitmoji from your phone to your computer
  • Link to another part of the library or another room in school
  • Share and embed

In Powerpoint, we will:

  • Create the virtual space - with a background photo
  • Add picture elements to it
    • show how to resize, flip and order the elements in the space
  • Link to library resources - discuss client vs online issues
  • Add your Bitmoji - if you haven't created one, we will do that now
    • How to find different poses, and how to get the Bitmoji from your phone to your computer
  • Link to another part of the library or another room in school
  • Share and embed - share Microsoft's embed caveats

Share that this is also all possible using Canva.

Powerpoint Embed-makes you sign in

Powerpoint "Document" Upload-makes you save it locally

pdf version-book links don't work

Google Slides Embed-super easy, but you need a Google account to create one

Canva

SlideShare.net - Links don't work.

HTML - converted PPSX to HTML with Zamzar. As you can see, it didn't work.
